Tickle your taste buds

There are moments that make life extra fun. Your guests might be from Italy, Spain, or—why not?—France.Most people love bubbly, but how much do we really know about champagne?We Swedes love bubbles.Even our water has to be sparkling when it doesn’t come from the tap. And for more and more wine drinkers, it’s all about the bubbles in the bottle.

A champagne tasting is a fun activity for those of you who don’t want to become world champions or champagne book authors, but simply want to get a little more out of your interest in champagne. Here, you’ll learn a bit more about champagne and quickly get a feel for what this wonderful wine has to offer. Try Prosecco, Cava, and Champagne, and discover the differences between them. Challenge yourself and your colleagues with a sparkling wine tasting at Körunda.

You’ll each receive a form where you can write down your thoughts on the different varieties in terms of aroma, taste, and appearance. At the end, it’s always fun to compare the forms to see what everyone thought!

Fun facts

Do you know the difference between cava, prosecco, and champagne?

Sparkling wine is the obvious choice for a party. But there are so many different kinds besides champagne—do you know the difference between them?

Champagne –may only be produced in the Champagne region of France, using specific methods and designated grape varieties.

Crémant– a general term for sparkling wines produced in France but outside the Champagne region.

Franciacorta– Italy’s answer to champagne, made using the same production method and grapes.

Prosecco– an Italian sparkling wine, but unlike champagne, it is usually produced using the tank method (not aged in barrels).

Cap Classique –the South African version of champagne, made using the same production method and grapes.

Cava– the Spanish version of champagne.

Sparkling wine– from Germany and Austria, produced according to the methods used in each region.
